Frenzal Rhomb's Lindsay McDougall was asked to appear in a video which he was told, would represent the lives of working and touring musicians. However, later he discovered the video was part of a propaganda piece developed by the music industry to show to school children to discourage file sharing.
McDougall was outraged by the misrepresentation, saying:
I was lumped in with this witch hunt [and] completely taken out of context and defamed. I have never come out against internet piracy and illegal downloading and I wouldn't do that - I would never put my name to something that is against downloading and is against piracy and stuff, it's something that I believe is a personal thing from artist to artist.
I would never be part of this big record industry funded campaign to crush illegal downloads, I'm not like [Metallica drummer] Lars Ulrich. I think it's bullshit, I think it's record companies crying poor and I don't agree with it. I don't think i'm going to sue anyone but I would say that already this morning people's opinion of me has been lowered," McDougall said.
I'm from a punk rock band, it's all about getting your music out any way you can - you don't make money from the record, the record companies make the money from the record. If they can't make money these days because they haven't come onside with the way the world is going, it's their own problem.
the makers of the film deny it all, of course. you decide http://www.in-tune.com.au/
my take - first 3rd of the movie is getting close to the characters; understanding that they're just working hard, ordinary people in a 24/7 job which "isn't really like the rockstar lifestyle" at all. The second 3rd starts with Lindsay talking about how the internet is massive and then it cuts straight to other bands talking about bad money, not making enough, internet sales, and associated problems/challenges. it's pretty subliminal bullshit. the third 3rd is about the future using key words like hoping for "growth" and how "hard" it will be. fuck you Australia.

G-unit - Elephant in the Sand
G-Unit Elephant in the Sand
Here's the second in a series of 3 free mixtapes brought to you by thisis50.com. After one listen this one is much better than vol. 1 so expect vol. 3 to blow your nuts off. Features lots of Young Buck and the new Unit has more emphasis on group dynamics, especially when it comes to the choruses.
Fat Joe's new cd "Elephant in the room" is projected to sell 50,000 cds it's first week. This mixtape got 75,000 - 200,000 download in its first day...

“Support the independent labels, but the big ones –fuck’em. Anyways, I haven’t found anything in many years which come from a large label worth buying” Jello Biafra said recently outside of the country.

You don't need to be a community college graduate to realize that 50 Cent is a smart man. Well after 25 editions of the G-unit Radio mixtape series here comes the first thisis50.com mixtape, and it was given away for free. I don't think the G-unit Radio tapes were suppose to be free.... but that's what happens when you release all your material. This is the new generation model of the music industry.

I was a little surprised to see that someone managed to rerere-release "Sid Sings" so it's time to kill this blond bitch once and for good. Taken from 2 nights in NY, and you got to love the guy closet to the mic....
Sadly this wasn't released in America so I guess this is void of any RIAA lawsuits... we'll see. But Frenzal Rhomb does it again. They manage to intermingle fast hardcord punk with thriple-tracked harmonies and melodies of potty humor. it's great. Somehow they managed to play faster than their previous album so grab this if you got the time.
